“I  Am’’  poem

 by: Lydia robles

I  am  color  and  I  have  lots  of  feathers

I  wonder  if  my  feathers  will  stop  growing

I  hear  the  leaves  crunching

I  see  lots  of  leaves

I want  my  feathers  to  stop  growing

I  am  colorful  and  I  have  lots  of  feathers

I  pretend  that  I’m  not  a  peacock  when  people  come   to  the  forest

I  feel  scared  when  people  come  to  the  forest

I  touch  lots  and  lots  of  trees

I  worry  that  one  day  I  will  get  hurt

I  cry  when  a lot  of  animals  get  shot

I  am  colorful  and  I  have  lots  of  feathers

I  understand  that  one  day  I  will  get  hurt

I  say  that  I  wish  people   wouldn’t  hurt  animals

I  dream  ht  one  day  I  will  be  important

I  try  to  help  other  animals  when  there  in  danger

I  hope  to  help  different  animals

I  am  a  peacock

I Am Poem

                                                By: MARAH CLINE

                                                                                                                                                                                         I am a bottlenose dolphin

I wonder where my babies are

I hear the other fish whispering

I see the sun though the ocean top

I what to see the world with land

I am a bottlenose dolphin

I pretend to be on land

I feel good with warm waters around

I touch the ocean floor

I worry that something bad is going to happen

I cry when I think of something sad

 I am a bottlenose dolphin

I understand I can’t go on land

I say I will live for ever

I dream of land

I try to my best

I hope I will see land one day

I am a bottlenose dolphin

I am Poem

By D’onna Duncan

I am medium size

I wonder if I will have babies

I hear birds singing

I see worms from the earth

I want to fly

I am red

I am medium size

I pretend to be died

I feel my fur in the wind

I touch my eggs

I worry if a hawk will eat me

I cry when I am scared

I am a little bird

I am tan or red

I understand that I can fly

I say I am cute

I try to stay safe

I hope to stay away from hawks

I am a cardinal.

                                                        I  AM POEM

BY; LILLIAN BURHANS

I AM BROWNISH WHITE.

I WONDER ABOUT MY WIFE AT THE NEST.

I HEAR OTHER BIRDS IN CHERPING IN TE DISTANCE.

I SEE OTHER BIDS FLYING PAST ME.

I WANT A BIG DINNER.

I AM BROWNISH WHITE.

I PRETEND TO SWIM WHILE FLYING.

I FEEL THE WIND BRUSHING MY WIDEST CLOUD IN THE SKY FEATHERS.

I TOUCH THE.

I   WORRY ABOUT MY YOUG AT THE NEST.

I CRY WHEN AIR GOES THROUGH MY EYES.

I AM BROWNISH WHITE.

I UNDER STAND OTHER ANIMALS.

I SAY CAWCAW CAW.

I DREAM ABOUT    MY FUTURE.

I TRY TO SEE MY NEST.

I HOPE   I WILL FIND A TASTY DINNER.

I AM A BALD EAGLE.

“I Am” Poem

I am a newt swimming in a pond.

I wonder if I’m the only one.

I hear the trickle of water going into the pond.

I see a predator approaching quietly.

I want to explore my environment.

I am a newt swimming in a pond

I pretend that I am a big juicy fish.

I feel my cold slimy dinner.

I touch the fish that I am eating.

I worry when I may be someone else’s dinner.

I cry when I cannot find my next dinner.

I am a newt swimming in a pond.

I understand that I am very lonely.

I say that I need other relatives.

I dream that I can live forever.

I try to stay under the water forever.

I hope I will never die.

I am a newt swimming in the pond.

I Am Poem

By Alexis Hines

     I am slow and mean

I wonder if I will get my meal

    I hear my meal swimming

I see the blue sky

I want to run

I am slow and mean

    I pretend I’m grass

I feel the wind

I touch the grass

I worry about my meal

I cry for my mom

I am slow and mean

I understand that I have to wait

I say I’m hungry

I dream I am at home

I try not to think of it

I hope my dream comes true

I am slow and mean

I Am” Poem

Demarkus Moore

I am scary and pointy

I wonder why I have a sword for a nose

I hear a boats horn above my head

I see a hammer head shark approaching

I want to disappear into a sunken ship

I am scary and pointy

I pretend I am a human swimming

I feel the water pressing up against my fin

I touch seaweed as I pass

I worry I will be caught in a fisherman’s net

I cry when others get scared at my sight

I am scary and pointy

I understand why people are scared of me

I say, “Don’t be scared I won’t hurt you”

I dream that one day I will have lots of friends

I try not to scare others when they see me coming

I hope that one day everyone will be my friend

I am a swordfish

Multigenre Project Presentation

Tonight was wonderful!!!!!!!  Everyone did a wonderful job!!!!!!  I could tell that everyone made such a great effort on all projects.  It was amazing to see all the research that took place on all the projects.  I know that with my own project I was able to take ownership and find lots of things that I could relate to Juliette Gordan Low. Although she never had children the girl scout troops were her children. I know that the girls in my own feel like my children.  So I can relate to her in that she wanted to make a difference in all girls life.

I really enjoyed all the project.  I learned all about people and places I had never heard of before.  I really liked Robin’s alphabet pictionary it was amazing.  I thought that Jamie’s topic was the most unique!  I never knew about the wedding dress color and how that color expressed your feelings on the day of your wedding.  Really neat.  I can tell that everyone is so creative!!!!!

Weekly Reflection on Cassidy,Reese articles and Ch. 3

I read the articles first and they really intrigued me.  I use wordless book in my classroom alot.  I use them for vocabulary and getting ideas from pictures.  My students like to make up the story as we go along.  I had never thought about wrting down our story and sharing it with others.  I know that sounds awful but at the beginning of the year we are lucky if we can sit for 15 minutes without requiring a break.  But now I have students that get really into our whole group writings.  I feel that this activity may be good for the ones who enjoy it and allow the others to complete something different during that time.  I have a dear friend that teaches first grade and I made a copy of the articles for her to read.  Once she read them she was amazed at what the 2nd grade students could do with the activity. She told me that she was looking for something to do with her students to keep them focused during all this warm weather that we are having and she said that she may have found her activity.  Iwould have love to see the books that they created.

The chapter was a great resource to show the various ways and stages that children use during storytelling and writing stories.  I know that looking back over some of my own children’s writing the difference  I can see through length but also adding great details.  I really like the ideas of teachers allowing students to partner write.  This is a great concept for a student who struggles with writing stories but has great ideas as long as someone else is writing.  allowing students the opportunity to see how other writers solve problems within the stroyline and also seeing transitions is a great way to learn and use them as examples in their own writing.
